We’re confident at Glow Up Studio that our amazing guest community has questions about our new facial service now that we have completed our transformation from a predominantly lash extensions salon to a more comprehensive provider of facial beauty services. This article will provide an in-depth explanation of our facial service, our process and hopefully answers many of these questions.

Step 1 - First Consultation | Skin Analysis
Before each Glow Up Studio facial, you will be asked to complete a consultation form. Your responses help your skin therapist form a picture of your lifestyle, skin concerns, and long term skin health goals.
Your skin therapist will then complete a “skin analysis”, an assessment of the health of your skin at that moment. They will look at your skin under a bright lamp with a built-in magnifying glass to determine Skin Type (e.g. dry, oily, combination, sensitive, normal), and Skin Conditions (e.g. acne, blackheads, whiteheads, aging, sun-damage, dehydration, etc).
Your skin therapist will then create a custom treatment plan by choosing the appropriate COSMEDIX products and treatments to best treat your skin. With the skin being the body’s largest organ, and very susceptible to environmental changes and health and lifestyle changes, it is likely that your monthly facials will be slightly different.
Step 2 - Double Cleanse
Your Glow Up Studio Skin Therapist will use 2 cleansers from this selection of 4. They will also direct a vapor of warm steam over your face from a steamer. The steam will relax you and help to soften the facial skin ahead of any treatments.

If required, your Glow Up Studio Skin Therapist will include extractions in your facial. COSMEDIX Desincrustation Solution aids in the removal of impurities from clogged and congested follicles. Essential oils mix with a pH balance to help soften and dilate congested skin to prep for extractions.
Step 6 - 2nd Consultation | Treatment Modification
With your face now completely clean, your skin therapist will take another look at your skin. They may suggest making changes to the original treatment plan, including the addition of any enhancements.
Step 7 - Facial Massage
This for many is the best part of any facial. Using classic strokes like effleurage, a form of massage involving a circular stroking movement made with the palm of the hand, a facial massage both relaxes you and stimulates your skin and facial muscles.
